Sales & Production Planning’s objective is to provide the optimal vehicle supply for Honda Canada and the dealer network in Canada. The supply plan is balanced by production constraints, the Brand’s objectives, Honda Canada profitability and the overall brand auto sales plan/strategy.    Sales & Production Planning is looking for a passionate and highly motivated individual to support the department’s objectives by maintaining the Auto Niguri as well as analyzing future opportunities/risks to retail and supply plans as part of the monthly Seihan process. The Seihan Planner will assess the opportunities and risks by analyzing the retail and supply plans, current business conditions and dealer inventory to support recommendations to the Sales & Production Planning Supervisor and Honda Sales Operations.   The result is an Auto Niguri that has an achievable retail plan according to the Brand’s objectives, maintains dealer stock levels at the target set by the Brand and overall vehicle supply that achieves Honda Canada’s profit and GHG targets.   In this role, you will be required to be a conduit between Honda’s North American production facilities and the Canadian Sales & Marketing office.  You will be provided visibility to senior leadership as you will play a key role in analyzing, developing and presenting Sales & Production Planning’s strategy to internal and external stakeholders.    This is a permanent position at Honda Canada’s head office in Markham, Ontario and provides a mix of in-office and remote work flexibility.  From time to time, the position will require travel to North American face-to-face meetings, conferences, and production facility visits.          Responsibilities:   - Manage and optimize the Honda/Acura Auto vehicle supply, by providing production, wholesale and retail sales forecasts along with actualizing the Auto Niguri with month end results; - Correlate with Product Planning and Sales Operations on establishing retail sales plans for the fiscal year for all Honda/Acura models as well as setting up quarterly and monthly targets; - Liaise with North American Production Control (NAPC) on supply and order production volumes for Honda Canada; - Support the preparation of monthly reports and presentations for monthly Niguri and Seihan meetings with Executives and NAPC; - Support sales plan uploads to the Seihan Planning System (SPS); - Analyze and develop logical explanations of changing market situations, sales results, inventory levels, and retail sales plans to support production change requests; - Coordinate trim mix ratios and capacities with Sales & Production Planning Planners to ensure proper execution of orders & forecasts within APS & SPS. **Please note that there would be travel expected in this role, including domestic and international travel, including the US and occasionally, Japan. This role would also include flexibility to work from home while also having some requirement to be in office at our National Headquarters in Markham on an as needed basis, especially in the initial employment period**     The Marine Service and Engineering Specialist will work in the Technical Operations Division / Quality Engineering Department to improve sales and dealer/customer satisfaction by providing technical support (rigging, prop selection, engine/hull matching, performance testing) for marine dealers in Canada who are fitting or refitting Honda marine engines on to boats. This will involve working closely with the techline group, the power sports and product engineering group, the training department, the marine sales team, and with the dealers directly as necessary. In addition, they will work to boost accessory sales and dealer satisfaction by supporting the Honda Canada parts department with selection and appropriate inventory of marine components / accessories.   The successful candidate will also optimize quality and speed of dealer support and satisfaction by collaborating with American Honda (AH) Application Engineering team and increase sales through support efforts to establish and maintain a Honda marine engine supply relationship with OEM boat builders in Canada. Finally, but not limited to, they will help manage marine business risk by monitoring and advising of relevant changes within marine regulations and important standards (ex AYBC and NMEA) which apply to the Canadian marine market and improve dealer capability by providing network support for service and technical training.   Responsibilities: - Provide technical Honda marine engine installation, diagnosis, rigging, propping and testing support to Honda marine dealers / boat builders – remote and in-dealer. Provide tech support for Sales promotion activity; - Provide level 2 technical support to marine tech line. Support development of NA common techline contact management system or data sharing as required. Support development / maintenance of rigging guide and rigging selector; - Support Quality Engineering (QE) product quality investigations / activity as required. Regular market data review (techline, warranty, CR, etc). Prepare / participate in QE’s monthly PDCA meeting. Validate marine Service Bulletin repairs as required; - Provide technical support to parts and accessories for marine products; rigging / accessory / propellors / chemicals / lubes etc requirements; - Provide technical Honda marine engine installation, rigging, propellor selection and testing support specifically to boat builders (BB) in Canada (and in the US if necessary); - Training support as required: Provide input / guidance / evaluation for Marine training development. Lead train the trainer sessions; - Provide technical support for customer escalations as required (investigate, cause analysis, meet with dealer / customer if needed, propose resolution) as well as tech support for marine legal claims.   Qualifications: - Post secondary in a Marine Technician program or equivalent experience; Engineering degree would be an asset; - Familiarity with standards associated with marine, specifically NMEA2000 network installation and troubleshooting and general familiarity with ABYC standards; - Current driver’s and boating license with good driving record and trailer towing experience / endorsement; - 10 years of experience in the Marine Industry with an emphasis on marine engine application engineering, dealer and/or boat builder technical support and service; - Bilingual in French and English is an asset; - Dealership and customer service experience preferred; - Good working knowledge of the marine industry, marine industry products, excellent technical understanding of marine internal combustion engines, marine drive lines, boat operation and marine systems; - Familiar with manufacturing production line processes / methods - Must be able to operate engine and boat data acquisition equipment and software applications; - Must be experienced in trailering / loading / unloading boats; - Must have an advanced understanding of propeller selection and hull interaction; - Must have familiarity with use of basic hand and power tools, as well as with equipment such as a radar gun, GPS equipment, db meter and precision measuring tools, etc.; - Must have a working knowledge of P/C computer systems and all common MS Office applications.
